No, the only exception is after they are cooked like in apple pie. If you want a good snack sometime, try frozen grapes...they are healthy and delicious.

An example of what happens to an apple when it freezes is to look at the apples left on the apple tree after a hard freeze & thaw. Would you want to eat those?
But it is possible to freeze apples using either of these methods:
Wash, pare, & core them. Dissolve 1/2 tsp ascorbic acid color keeper in 1 qt. water. Pour 1/2 c. of this water into a freezer container. Slice apples into the container. Press down: cover with water. Leave 1/2" headspace. Seal & freeze.
To freeze in a sugar pack, wash, pare, core & slice. Steam 1.5-2 mins; cool; drain. Sprinkle 1/2 c sugar over ea. qt. of fruit; stir. Pack tightly into containers, leaving headspace. Seal; freeze.
Both of these methods would yield apples that could be used later in pies, baking, etc.

When we were kids we used to pick frozen apples right off the tree and eat them frozen. They're good that way only on the first freeze. Once they thaw they immediately turn brown and have a wine smell.

I think you're out of luck unless your summer camp happens to get a lot of snow. You could theoretically make your own freezer with some kind of compressed gas, but it's probably a bit too complicated to do and a little too expensive. Sorry.
