To see your grandmother in your dream, represents nurturance, protection, and unconditional love. Consider the qualities and characteristics that exist in your own grandmother.
To witness a murder in your dream, forewarns of approaching sorrows due to the actions of others. To dream that you are murdered, signifies that you have rivals that are secretly conspiring to ruin you.
To dream that you have been killed, suggests that your actions are disconnected from your emotions. This dream may also represent a part of you or your life that you wish would leave you alone and stop creating a nuisance. Killing may represent the killing off of old parts of yourself and old habits.
To see the dead in your dream, forewarns that you are being influenced by negative people and are hanging around the wrong crowd. You may suffer material loss. This dream may also be a way for you to resolve your feelings with those who have passed on. To see and talk with your dead father in your dream, signifies that you are about to enter into an unlucky transaction or rotten deal. Thoroughly think through your decisions before entering into them. To see your dead mother in your dream, signifies your wretched and mean-hearted nature towards others around you. Seeing your dead parents in your dreams, may mean your fears of losing them or your way of coping with the loss. You may want that last opportunity to say your final good-byes to them. To see your dead sibling, relative, or friend alive in your dream, indicates that you miss them and are trying to relive your old experiences you had with them. In trying to keep up with the pace of your daily waking life, you dreams may serve as your only outlet in coping and coming to terms with the loss of a loved one.

From what you describe, she is subconsciously dealing with control issues. These dreams are probably due to stress in her daily life. Have her change her daily routine -- mix it up, add some active playful fun, not watching TV, etc. -- and I'll bet you a dime her dreams change. Endorphins released by laughing, and by exercise increase the feeling of well-being in the human body.

If she still has these dreams after changing her routine, etc., email me with more specific details. I'm very good at dream interpretation, no matter how weird they may be

Gory, graphic dreams do not always mean something terrible. Her subconscious may be trying to get her attention through fearful imagery. She could attempt to write down her dream as soon as she wakes up -it is surprising how much one remembers when you start to write asap. Everyone's subconscious has their own language/meaning. She can figure out what her own language is by underlining important words in the dream story and then brainstorming other keywords and fitting them back into the story. Hard to explain in one message but Yashodara Ashram in British Columbia teaches an excellent dream yoga course that helps one refine this process. Dream journals can be very empowering. Some of my scariest dreams ended up being very powerful, helpful ones once I worked them out.

Is she on medicine like antidepressants? Sometimes certain medications can effect the quality of dreams, but it almost sounds like she is having more nightmares. Nightmares and night terrors are associated with different stages of sleep; regular dreams occur during REM sleep and nightmares occur during stage 4 sleep (I think its stage 4). Some people who have lots of nightmares often have a sleep disorder. My friends husband used to act out his nightmares and physically hit his wife. A sleep study revealed that he was not getting REM sleep and he subsequently had to take meds for it - it helped. Dreams that relate to the past and all of the other horrible things your partner has experienced often reflect some unresolved issue or conflict that continues to haunt her. Some dream theorists believe that dreams about going back to childhood reflect psychological regression.

She should sit down and think what these events mean to her. Yours dreams dictate what you subconscious is trying to tell you. So how i feel about a scenario in a dream is not the same as you r partner does.

It could mean a loss of something as little as a pair of shoes to a loss of her old life and starting over new.

If I were you, I would definitely get a copy of 10,000 Dreams Interpreted (I think that's what the title is..I don't remember the author's name). It is a pretty cheap book but it is excellent.

Sounds like the dream is a manifestation of her personal fears, perhaps brought on by anticipation of bad news, or insecurity.
