The only way to disprove something is to prove that it would be impossible for such a thing to exist. In the case of, say, a unicorn, that would involve showing that it would be genetically impossible for an equine species to grow horns like that. (I don't know if it is - that's just an example.)

The only person I would feel a need to disprove something to is myself. So, in the cases you gave, I would learn as much as I could and research the subject, then make a decision. BWD

Why would I want to try? Whether those things exist or not is of no consequence to my eternal salvation. My time is better spent trying to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ rather than to disprove things.

the people who make those things up know they are not true - just like Greek mythology
the early Christians died for what they believed in - I never heard of anyone going to that degree for unicorns
as for faith - I think you define it wrong - it is not to be blind it is to trust God for the outcome of a situation

1) Demonstrating logical incoherence of the belief
2) Demonstrating lack of epistemic warrant
3) Demonstrating lack of correspondence with other known facts.
Note: these are not dis-proofs, but reasons not to believe.

Speaking as an ex-christian: They don't. They just attack the idea and try to suppress it.
