No, it's no ok for you to hit her back---but it's not ok for her to hit you either. I am single and quite old, so have some experience and I believe that if anyone hits someone else, no matter what sex, it is wrong. I wouldn't sit quietly and let someone hit me though. If I wanted the relationship to work, I would make it clear that the hits would be returned, in kind, if it happened again. If that didn't work, I would leave the relationship and look for someone who respected me enough not to be physically abusive.

It would never be ok to hit her for a number of reasons. 1: most men are stronger 2: if the police become involved, she will face charges, but you sir would be looking at a whole lot worse and 3: you never want to be "that" guy. the next time she starts up grab her wrists and immobilize her so that she cant hit you; it will make her feel ridiculous at the same time.

Not unless you are defending something (not in a deliberately offensive way) important like your dignity or your life, because physical bruises heal and as a guy, you should probably take the abuse rather than show that you're annoyed or pissed.

Nobody wants to get hit. If you are being physically abused leave now. It will only get worse. Good luck.

neither of you should be hitting each other. Outside of a playful bedroom swat, violence is unacceptable in any relationship

Tell her to cut it out! If she has something to say - spit it out but cut out the hitting!
