I want to decorate my shop by covering the ceiling with multicoloured balloons - but will it be worth it if they just fall to ground after a day or so?

rubber balloons you fill yourself will last a day to 3, depending on how thick they are. Some metallic balloons, the kind you buy from gift shops etc, will last a few weeks but tend to be very pricey. Maybe you could run a series of strings the length of your shop and tie the balloons to them? That way you could use air filled balloons and just take the string down to replace them when they popped/deflated?

It depends on the size of the balloons. Large balloons, which have more helium, could stay up for a few days. Smaller ones will drop more quickly because the helium will be exchanged out of the balloon with regular air more quickly, causing them to drop faster.

They should start falling after about 4 -6 hours. Not worth the money

They normally deflate a descent bit in a day or so. The sealed foil ones normally last a few days longer.
