Misery loves company is the explanation to your friends stupid actions. As for you, yeah, maybe it was a stupid reason, but in hindsight if it really mattered that much, why is it taking you a few years to realize it? Now, if you're lucky and you can still contact her and she is single still, you might have another chance. However, if you don't have that opportunity, then just count it as a loss and move on. I'm sure there's other girls out there and I think you've learned your lesson so maybe next time you find a good girl you won't screw things up the same as you did before.

There's an easy answer to your question. Any time a guy dumps a girl over a lousy (strange) reason, there's another girl in the picture. Where there's smoke, there's fire. He would just invent some ridiculous reason unless he was motivated to by some other factor.
Hey the good news is that at least the guy is TRYING to do the right thing. Most guys would try to balance both relationships as long as he could. He obviously has self-respect and wants to be sincere to his lover. Unfortunately that lover is just not you.

those aren't stupid if they are the real reason. Men are scared of you or a relationship being the last. What if the man you met and and fell in love and realized. This is the last person I will ever have a first kiss again with. The last person I will have sex with the last person I will ever love. If you are a male and 20 and meet a perfect person you realize you will be with the same person for the next 80 years and there is nothing you can do about it.

some times they get scared of attachment, which leads to falling in love, or
they are not sure of what they really want, guys get confused just like females do. except female are more open with their feelings then most men.
I do not know how old you are so, I will treat you just as an adult because you are dating correct? when you date or go out with some body remember this (not saying this is how you think ) just saying,
you do not own the person your with,so enjoy thier company while it last, only as long as they treat you right. If keep going for the same men you will only keep getting hurt ,maybe you might try another kind or type?

I Think because they really jest want out and don't have a good reason so they come up with the best thing that they think will make the transition go smoothly I personally have never done this if a girl is a keeper I won't go any wear a good woman is hard to come by it would be crazy to let a good one go,

Simple, because the man thinks the girl is ugly, or he found something else. Or the girl isn't giving up the big chicken dinner. But mainly because the girl is ugly.
And it's the truth men don't look at women and thier values for attration, they look at thier physical beauty. And we give BS reason because we can't think of anything else.

I think that women break up with men for many of the same reasons.
Love is hard. Anyone who tell you differently is either lying or a fool.
The truth is, we only want to be with the ones we love. It's sometimes hard to tell someone that you LIKE that you don't LOVE them... so, we sometimes make up excuses.
It's time to move on and find someone new.

Men SHOULD dump women and dump them often. Dumping a "girl" with an attitude is the best thing you can do towards teaching them the need to work for the relationship, not just treat it like a dying plant...

For the same reason Women do it to Men. Everyone does it for one reason or another. Because they don't want to tell the truth or because the really reason will hurt to much and they don't want to deal with aftermath of it, or they really just don't want to be with you anymore and they can't think of a good reason so they make one up.
