i keep hearing the "they pick our oranges, they mow our lawn, they clean our hotel rooms" as justification for illegals being here. However, do illegals as well as Americans realize that these illegals are being discriminated against?

These same jobs are offered to these illegals because their standards are low. An american will not take a job cleaning someone's smelly s/hit or picking oranges in the heat for $4.15 an hour. Yet, an illegal will do it.

Yes these illegals are hard workers though these same companies hiring them are only doing it because they know illegals have low standards regarding pay and work and they lessen the wage. They wouldnt dare post the same wage to a typical american. If there were no illegals to do the job, they wouldnt have any choice but to raise the wage suitable for the cost of living

Knowing this, why do these illegals still come here. they can barely make a living and do they realize how these companies view them?

i mostly hear pro-illegals use the hard worker cliche but tell me something, they are hard workers why? because they are only good enough for below minimum wage jobs? because they will clean your house for little to nothing? Is this why you want them to stay? pro-illegals say anti's are racist and mean, but when you really think about it, who exactly is the selfish and unfair one?

Immigration in the US is a joke.
Illegals have more rights than legal immigrants and visa holders.
I lived in the US for 8 years, my whole family speak English fluently, I hold a PhD degree. However because my work visa could not be renewed and I couldn't find any loophole in the law, fake wife, or wanted to stay in the country illegally, I ended up having to leave the country my kids learned to love. We all felt at home up there (contrary to some who live in ghettos and only speak their native language) and respected the US law while the global scumbags that will probably get an amnesty in a near future will benefit from their law breaking strategies. They
will find defenders who say "they work hard and pay taxes" so let me tell you all this: I did the same PLUS under the law and because of that people like me is being punished. This sucks! I'm now well adjusted back in my country but I know my kids wish they were still there. Maybe, who knows,
they will go back someday but I'll make sure they take no passports, produce fake ID's and SSN's and don't forget to go in a makeshiftboat ride or cross a desert so they can be more successful.....
By the way, migrant workers don't steal jobs from Americans. (rednecks picking tomatoes, I doubt it) People like me may take away 1 or 2. mid skilled workers definitely take millions of jobs away because illegals can't join unions and generally can work for less for several reasons (pay less or no taxes, live in packs and so forth)

OMG! Carly, that happens at your school? that is awful. Kids shouldn't have to pay the price for their parents. The kids had not choice but to follow their parents. I have to disagree on the statement about kids are angry because they see their parents working hard and paying taxes. Kids generally don't care about issues such as those. They probably hear racism and ignorance in their home and bring it to school, that's all. I grew up in a 80% Hispanic community and if you were white or looked white, you'd be picked on because of that.

Illegals are discriminated against, but it's somewhat subtle, it's not full blown, because if it were, you'd see chaos on the streets of the United States. All the people from the rallies, and then some, would go out to the streets but this time PISSED OFF and ready to destroy.

Illegals come here not to starve and to obtain the American dream, it worked for the Europeans, why not for the illegals?

When you think of the "illegal"problem try to also think that a large part of the taxes paid by the 300 million legal Americans goes to provide the support in food, medicine, education, social security etc.,etc, to care for the "illegals".

One of the reasons why we have an Immigration Department is because, like every other country on this planet, we want to regulate the immigrant program to our ability ( with taxes) to pay for their needs.

American cannot afford to take care of the poor of the rest of the world, we don't have the money, resources and manpower.

The fact that illegal immigrants are exploited is because there are too many of them and being illegal they do not earn the protection of our laws.

America has become a heaven for illegal immigrants: it's understandable but it's also corrupting the way we handle immigration.

I am an Anglo teacher in a school that is 88% Hispanic. The students who are here illegally are continually harrassed by the Hispanics students who were born here and so were their parents. They call them " wet backs" and " river walkers" and report them to immigration faster .than the Anglos They tell them to go back across the river and spit at them when they walk by during hall passing periods. Why ? Because they see their legal parents working hard ,PAYING TAXES, and learning the language. Many of my second and third generation Hispanic students don't even speak Spanish and know nothin about Mexico or South America. Their parents did it the legal way. Another thing, go to smaller towns in the central states. You will see plenty of Anglos mowing yards and doing janitorial work. Although you made a very good presentation, you need to be more of a fact finder. It is not true that these jobs are the jobs Anglos won't do.

You are partially correct. Americans won't do those jobs for those little wages and illegals will.

Why? Easy -- Illegals don't pay taxes, nor medical benefits, nor Social Security tax. They get paid usually under the table. Therefore they have more money than an American worker would.

There is NO justification for illegals being here. If they want to live and work in the US, and have a better life for themselves and their families, then they need to adapt to the American way of life, learn to speak English and become US Citizens!!

MILLIONS of immigrants came to the US also to live and work in the US and to have a better life. They became US Citizens!!
Why can't illegals understand that????????

I think they do know and don't care because they are getting far more money here than they would in Mexico.
Think how well off Mexico is getting because of this. Their illegal families are sending them money that they spend in Mexico.
NOT to mention our companies moving there, making Mexico more money. I don't know if Mexico has a welfare system but the more immigrants that come here, the less Mexico will have to shell out.

Well i cannot speak for the rest of the pro illegals just for myself. and to answer your question I mostly say that illegals are hard workers based on the fact that many of them are willing to clean someone's toilet and mow lawns and do a bunch of other stuff for little to no pay when it would be easier for them to just sell drugs, rob and prostitute like many american citizens do.and though the pay is low they still come here because as little money as they make doing these jobs its still better than the one dollar a day they made back in their countries working in the fields from dawn till dusk or working their @ss off being someone's maid.and your right an american will not take a job like that because they feel its their duty for the government to support them, so they figure why take a job that pays that much when they can go down to their local government office and apply for food stamps. and btw i truly do believe that if illegals weren't here the companies would still pay that amount because there would still be american citizens willing to work for that pay.

As soon as they get to Oregon the Liberal State Government Workers tell them that they are being discriminated against. The newly arrived would never think this from getting free everything. They don't even have to stand in lines at the State Offices, some one stands at the door and directs them.

the main reason at this element, unlawful immigration hurts the rustic’s economic gadget and it’s human beings. i be attentive to there are various of a people who're only attempting to make a extra sensible living of themselves and that they might desire to settle for the prospect to stay, in the event that they persist with the regulations and pay taxes as anybody else. I don’t help deporting people who're not hurting anybody, yet they might desire to deport anybody that commits a criminal offense. additionally they government might desire to build the wall on the border so we are able to end human beings from crossing and individuals from death at the same time as crossing.

First of all they rob our heath cares system because when they go to the hospital they don't pay. Over 5 million americans got there identity stolen by illegal immigrants. We didn't ask them to come here. They don't pay taxes and it pisses me off!
I have to pay taxes on everything (property tax, insurance, state tax, federal tax, etc) and they have none of these responsibilities.
