Well since he was working on your ankle and the bone to be exact it tends to hurt more than on the fatty part of skin (in my experience) tends to feel bruised... I have a tattoo that was done partially on my shin bone and it felt like I had been kicked in the shin for a week! If the lily itself is raised more than usual that is something to be concerned about (possibly the artist could have gone to deep and caused some scar tissue... also has happend to me)! I would definately seek the opinion of a licensed artist and describe your experience... also seeking a physicians advise is not out of the question either (in case of infection)! If by some faulty reason your received an unsanitary and improper service report the establishment to the state (state board and licensing department ), if worse comes to worse the state will go into the shop and inspect their sanitation quality, etc! They do this frequently in salon establishments as well! Good luck to you! Try to physically let it be... I would definately see an artist tonight and if he has no inquiries as to what you should do see a physician in the morning! Sorry kiddo... Goodluck!

well I know when I got my tattoo on top of my foot across the bone and all it was very swollen and hurt a lot like none of my other tattoos. I am not sure about the oozing stuff though. But it did hurt to walk and have shoes on my foot for about a week.
Check with the tattoo artist today and if they say to see your doctor you should follow through. I don't think it is an infection though because I had all the pain and swelling as well and now mine is fine. But it did take longer to heal since you never give your foot a rest.
Good luck to you.

First of all, as you should already know, you must keep it VERY clean. You may have a infection, like with any other kind of abrasion. Remember, the lowest point on your body is your foot.Your body is mostley made up of water and after you have a tattoo, weeping is normal, you will have excessive weeping around your feet. I would definatley see my artist and ask what you can put on it to help with the infection. I would also keep me foot elevated anytime I could, that will help with the swelling.

tattoos on the feet don't heal as fast or as well. when i got my foot tattooed it swelled up SO huge that i could barely walk. it barely even fit in my flip flop! and it weeped for two or three days due to all of the swelling. you need to be elevating your foot as much as possible. as long as you are following the directions it should be fine. if you could post a picture that would help. from my experience the weeping and swelling DOES NOT sound like an infection. it has only been 48 hours since you got your tattoo...
here is a link to some of the swelling i experienced within the first few hours

You need to go to the Emergency Room ASAP! It sounds like you have an infection or possibly a blood clot. It is possible since it was so close to the bone that the skin was broken allowing a massive infection to set it. Seriosly - do not delay. This is nothing to mess with. The fact that it has reacted so quickly indicates something could be seriously wrong. Good Luck!

your tatoo is probably infected. this happened to my husband last year. he had to go to the doctor and they gave him a tetnus shot and i think he had to take antibiotics for about a week. almost all the color fell out out the tatoo and it scarred a little along the outline.
sounds like you will be taking care of this before any real damage to your health is done.
be prepared for rude comments from the doc - we had insurance and my husband said they still made him feel like a skank for being tatooed.
most likely the artist was inexperienced or using a dull needle (no i don't mean dirty or used, just not sharp when it came from the factory) and so the process wasn't as clean as it should have been. that's what our tatoo artist friends told us after the fact anyway.

You might have an infection or they used dirty needles. Try calling the tattoo place and go see a doctor. It could save your life. The swolleness is a sign that your body is fighting something. Go see a doctor.

My sister had a tattoo done on both her feet, she had to rest her feet for days until the swelling went down and she was in agony, so put your feet up and take the pressure of them

Sounds like you may have an infection.
This happened to me on my lower belly. A small spot got infected and the color faded. I had to use neosporin until it healed then had it touched up.
Keep an eye on it!! Good luck!
