For example, in the Ten Commandments (or Decalogue) "You shall have no other gods before me" can be interpretted in many ways, for example, that "You will not find money more important than God", so I was wandering what different religions think

I have heard money compared to a hammer. It is a tool and can be used to build or destroy depending on how it is used. The tool itself is not inherently bad.

I tend to agree with this analogy.

And you are right, if money begins to take priority over other, more important things (i.e. God), then it can become destructive.

Thy tithing (firstfruits, 10%) Is throughout the bible. Starting with Cain & Abel.

Abel gave the best (firstling) of his calves. Cain didn't give the best (first of) his garden.

God loves obedience more than sacrifice. Either do it right or not at all. God doesn't accept the sacrifice if one isn't obedient in the firstfruits/ tithes. Cain didn't give excellently.

So, God favored Ables sacrifice. Cain got envious and envy was the stronghold that led Cain to murder his brother.

God told Cain to give his best next time. But Cain just fed his envy.

If we realize that God is the one who enables us to increase/ we thank God with the tithe and give with a joyful heart. If one gives it grumpily, God won't accept it either. The tithe is so there is a Church where the people are fed the Spiritual Word of God and also, those who are in need of physical food; that there is plenty with plenty left over.

Also offerings (in addition to the tithe) and is given as the Lord directs. And God gives back generously.

You will notice that the people who are rich because of honest motives, also are very generous.

Christianity teaches that "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil" It is more blessed to give than to receive- so it is also blessed to receive, just more blessed... We cannot serve God and mammon, or this world's goods. We believe they can certainly be a tool to help us with some of our needs and to help the needs of others. Just don't think that the person who drives the biggest Cadillac is necessarily the most spiritual. Might be or might not. No condemnation for owning an old truck or such.

The love of money is the root of all evil - not the money itself.

God owns all the money, and He gives it to us to steward. If we steward it wisely, using it the way God leads us, math doesn't apply to how much we have. He blesses us with more if we obey Him and use it according to the way He asks.

God asks us for 10% in a tithe, to be used to support the ministers, and to be able to help out all those who have need. This world runs on money, so we do need it to carry out tasks. Money itself isn't evil, it can be used to do so much good. There is enough money in this world that no one has to go hungry. Unfortunatly, not everyone is a wise steward and many are selfish. But in God's way, all needs would be met with abundance.

What appear to be the most informed Christian sources say in effect, good luck to you if you happen to be able to get rich honestly because of hard work or ability. But you should be generous to the less fortunate and not love money for it's own sake, which would undermine your Christian principles.

in Islam the greed of money is sinful.
have enough to survive and mayb alittle more but give alot out in charity for u hungry and thirsty brothers and sisters in 3rd world.
the more u give the less it is. the more money u give to charity the more money u will have replaced and obtain more by the will of God. This is what God is happy in.Not to think abt urselves all the time!

Money can drive the best of us over the brink of insanity, gambling for example, can turn the strongest of men, (or women) into a desperate addict!
