Do you know any statistics relating state education and state religiosity?

Actually, certain Christian schools, such as the one at my church, have children that excel because they're teaching reading, writing and arithmetic...not liberal views, sexual experimentation, evolution, revisionist history and other fairy tales. Children can concentrate on actual learning. It has been proven that bible-based educations are far superior to many secular (especially liberal) educations.
As far as Democrat states being better? I live in Florida (a Democrat state) and, no, their education down here STINKS, which is obvious by the intellectual, spelling and grammatical abilities.

The reasons for this are linked to the party's economic beliefs regarding big government and lots of taxes vs. small government and little taxes.

Republicans are for the smallest government and taxes possible - obviously limiting resources to some tax-funded things (like education).

It has to do with money - not religion.
