Ramadan is the holy month for Muslims during which the faithful fast from dawn to sunset. No food, drink or sexual relations permissable during the fasting period. Generally Muslims will pray a lot at night (Taraweeh) during the month and recite the Quran and ask God (Allah) for forgiveness. It is the holy month and very special occasion in the Islamic faith. Prophet Muhammad received the revelation of Quran (Muslim Holy Scripture) during Ramadan. The end of the month is celebrated by a special communal prayer and great joy.
The atmosphere during the month is highly spiritual, maybe physically challenging but always missed. Great time to reconnect with people, self and God (Allah).
Muslims follow the lunar calendar not the Gregorian (solar) calendar. Therefore the month shifts about 11days every year. It takes about 30 some years to repeat in the same period of the year.

Of course! Ramadan is the month where all muslims around the world fast. They get up for 'shehri' (before the sun rises), to eat something. During the day, they neither eat nor drink. For 'Iftaar' (just before the sun sets), they break their fast, after that they can eat and drink. The following day, it's the same thing. This 'routine' last between 30 to 29 days, not more, not less. After the Month of Ramadan, the muslim celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr.

Yes - Ramadan is a religious holiday in the Muslim community. During this time, practitioners do not eat food, drink, smoke or even chew gum during daytime.

Usually it is celebrated around November, but as far as I know the actual dates could vary. At the end of the Ramadan, people celebrate by having a feast.

its not really a holiday. its 30 days of religious repentance. the whole reason for fasting is to make you humble. you give up eatin and drinking (among other things) all day inorder to feel how it is too be poor and not be able to eat and drink when you would like to. It doesn't serve as a punishement but as a way to remind you of how well you have it. In the month you are suppose to give to charity and be as sinless as possible.

It occurs every year.

Doesn't fall to anyone date each year.

Fasting for approx one month (give or take a few days).

Celebrated with a holiday at the end of fasting.

Muslims break their fast sun down and do not eat sun up.

This brings them closer to God.

I hope this helps.
