No one hates FSM. How can you not love that adorable, cuddly, lovable pile of sauciness?

There is a Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I don't hate the FSM, and as I usually answer to god-believers when they ask similar questions, it is difficult to work up a lot of negative emotion about something that exists only in someones fertile imagination.

That being said, I'm not a fan of the FSM movement. (the history is it was invented as a parody around the time of the Dover School Board Intelligent Design case) I think it is amusing, but most people who go on about his "noodly appendage" and talk like pirates don't do atheism any favours with their silly behaviour

I prefer a more serious debate, and most god-believers take themselves so seriously they miss the humour and irony anyway.

Are you kidding?

All the so-called believers are atheists, though generally young and rebellious ones.

Frankly I think its a bit stupid. It had to be done because its a challenge to teaching ID in schools - if they're going to teach it they need to teach FSM origin theory as well.

Creationists can't say 'but there's no proof of any of that happening' because that is exactly the argument against 'intelligent design'.

I had a look at the gospel of the FSM and while some of it was mildly amusing some of it was just stupid, and I didn't like to see evolution defended by someone who doesn't seem to understand it very well. The author seemed to think flightless birds had never evolved the ability to fly.

Put simply, the probability of a piece of dried pasta evolving
a) powered flight
b) supreme beingness

leads me to the irreducible conclusion that it does not exist.
