How Cold Does It Have To Be For School To Be Canceled?

Our local schools have been cancelled for 3 days because of the cold. The morning temps were around -2 with the wind chill. Schools will cancel if the temps are dangerous for kids who walk to school or if the roads are unsafe for buses to travel on.

Guess it depends on what school. My school has never been cancled due to the cold, and it has been -15 with the wind chill before. I have to wait at the bus stop for 20 minutes, so you can imagine how terrible that is!

On friday and mondays not very cold, I know what your thinking we should have the students go through the summer, a term march to nov, monday to sat 9 to 4. we are talking cold climates.

Probably more likely on a Monday after the school's heating system has been cut back over the weekend.

It has to be below -5 degrees celcius room temperature. And it has to be hotter than 19 degrees celcius room temperature for school to be cancelled for being to hot.
