I have a New York and Co. credit card that I closed. Now I would like to re-open it but I'm concerend that it will hurt my credit score.

They say that repetitive closing and opening of cards does hurt your score in the short term. However, how you use that debt on that new card line will determine what your scores are several months down the road. Re-opening the card may innitialy ding your score, but it will also up your available credit line. So as long as you dont rack up heavy balances on the opened card, your score may even go up over time.

Usually a company that issues credit cards doesn't re-opn an account. More likely they will have you re-apply for a new account. It doesn't hurt your credit score.

It might, depends on how many credit cards that you currently have open.
