Here's what you need to do Cheddar.... Pull up the website for the Expo and check out each artists. All of them will have websites. Email each of them and ask if they have times left available and what their rate is. I can almost guarantee you that you're not going to be able to just walk up and get inked. I just went through this whole process a couple of weeks ago and prices ranged from $100 per hour to $200 per hour. You probably COULD get the work done a little cheaper at a shop......but girl...this is your chance to get a REAL piece of art inked on your skin.....the kind of tattoo that strangers stop and ask you about......Look at the featured artists...Usually they are the best of the best. You've heard the old saying "A Good Tattoo isn't Cheap and a Cheap Tattoo isn't Good" I hope this helps ya....Good luck

Each artist has his or her own price status! Depends what you are looking to get, time involved, their experience, etc! No matter where you are getting a tattoo... Shop or Expo all prices vary upon the artists! The more experience, capability, artistic talent, specialization, and clientel quantity enables them to determine what their art should be valued at! Get what I am saying? All prices, all artists, all shops have their own price setup... there is no set price nationwide! It could be charged by the hour, by the size, by the color, etc! There are too many factors to determine a price quote for you! It can cost more... Do you know which artists are going to be there... Alot of well known artists attend expo shows and can be quite pricey! There is no definate answer to your question sorry!

Often because of the rates artists are charged to participate in the Expo, time away from their shop, etc. they will charge a higher rate than they normally would. I've seen starting prices of $150/hr (about $100/hr is average here) at conventions, quickly going up from there. If you want work from your regular artist, just call and ask for his/her convention rate. If you want work from say, Paul Booth, E-mail or call and expect to make the appointment WAY in advance.
Just make sure you don't leave it to the last minute, becuase you will most likely be dissapointed (a lesson I learned the hard way)

most artists charge their normal prices. it probably would be more expensive just because most of the artists that go to tattoo conventions to work are fairly talented so they are usually more money. there aren't as many booths where you can just walk up and look at some flash and get it done. most convention tattoos are custom.
