This is a standard in making drinks
A simple syrup is made by using a ratio of 2/1 sugar and water
2 c sugar
1 c water
Mix sugar and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and cool completely at room temperature. Pour into a covered container and refrigerate. Can be stored indefinitely in refrigerator.

Simple Syrup is another name- you can either make it or by it from Starbucks- cheaper to make it though- equal part water to sugar heat until dissolved and you have simple syrup!
