In answer to your question, why do people today take so many pill's in today's world, b/c they can,you can now buy what used to be illegal, over the counter speed. We are no different than the people way back then, back then it was grass and moonshine, even if it meant you might serve some jail time if caught.Same story different page.God made herbs for the people, pot is a herb by the way,for what reason I'm not sure,I think it was to help people cope with life.It has been 20 yrs since I have smoked pot,b/c it is illegal and I did not enjoy being judged by others, even though If I would have continued to smoke pot I seriously doubt if I would be the christian pill addict I'am today.Yes I'am a christian anytime my church has services or has a mission's project I participate. In answer to the other question why do christian's take pills, christian or not if you are a pill addict and the choice is do without or live your life sitting on the couch, caring about little, neglecting your family and your duties as a s/o while life passes you by,is that not a sin,we want to just be normal, and have a normal life, the pill's make you feel as though you are normal again.I have a family I love and care for,the pills enable me to do that like a normal person. If you have been a addict for so long you are more normal on the pills than what you are without them. You would have to be a addict to understand.Yes I feel guilty and I ask God for forgiveness, and I pray that one day I can stop this cycle,Since being a christian I have slowed down a lot ,only twice a week now,I won't lie and say the desire goes away to take pills b/c I'am christian.I don't enjoy being comatose for even a week, let alone the next couple of years.Addicts need prayer not judgements, some people are not as strong or smart as other's does that make them a sinner even though they try and fail,b/c nobody wishes to have a substance control their life.If you still don't understand what I'am trying to say here is a example for you,the next time you are hungry, your brain and your body are telling you ,I'am hungry, see how long you can go without eating, while telling your brain to think just the oppisite, that you are not hungry,do you think you will be sucessfull ?

I know what you mean. It's so sad. I think the war on drugs is focused in the wrong direction. How many new drugs are sold merely on the premise that, "tests have shown that taking this drug along with other drugs MAY have some benefit." And usually the side effects are just as bad if not worse than what they're supposed to treat. For instance, one of the side effects of the sleeping pill Ambien is "next day drowsiness." ROFL I mean, isn't that the whole idea behind taking a sleeping pill? So you won't be sleepy the next day? Mike Judge aptly named the direction we're headed in his new film Idiocracy. There's one born every minute.

Good afternoon Legendary Member. There should be a pill for ignorance, arrogance, and just generally being a s***head, but unfortunately all we have pills for are to fix the medically necessary things.

I take 73 a week because I have rheumatoid arthritis. Trust me, these pills don't work so well, but they do improve my quality of life.

***For ms-trustme below me...try living with RA. I went four months without my meds and was in excrutiating pain, unable to comb my own hair or brush my own teeth.Walking was a misery and I slept 15 hours a day to avoid the agonizing pain. You haven't a clue how the constant stiffness, swelling, and pain interferes with any quality of life.

When YOU are diagnosed with a serious illness (maybe cancer or diabetes) and YOU need medications to save your life or improve your quality of life, you'll come down off your high horse and change your mind.

Be glad you have your health. It is my hope that you never know the suffering I live with.

****Ms-trustme....an alternate therapy or treatment for RA would be rolling over and dying. There is no cure for RA, all one can do is slow down the joint destruction. That's what the meds are for. It is far preferable to take the meds and put up with the side effects (of which there are many) than to put up with the pain, disability, and joint destruction brought upon by my body seeing ITSELF as an invader and going on the attack.

I also never said that cancer was incurable. Many forms are. I said SERIOUS, there's a difference. You obviously have excellent health, and healthy family members as well. I hope things remain that way for you, I would never wish an illness on anyone.I happen to have an asthmatic child. Without his meds he would surely die. Tis far preferable to succumb to the health care system than to disease. Good day to you.

Ridiculous, isn't it?

*****Red Queen, I understand what you are saying but don't you still have RA? The pain is gone but you are not healed. Doesn't your pills have side affects? You pay money for this but when you die will you still have RA at the rate at which things are going? This is just my opinion, I understand the excruciating pain but if that was all my medication could provide for me then I would be looking for alternative methods of healing.

Also, who says that cancer or diabetes is incurable? I find that very hard to believe. Maybe it's "incurable" because it is a billion-dollar industry? I would never want such a disease, and my heart goes out to you :)

Its not the peoples fault , but rather the drug companies backed by politicians and physicians .politicians and the docs are getting incentives from pharmaceutical companies so that as much as possible is prescribed!

they haven't done much in the serious disease department such as cancer or diabetes , so they are concentrating to stuff as many pills down our throats as they can for other crap we may or may not suffer from.

i imagine of it has to do with soul. Black singers understand a thanks to educate how they're feeling deep down via way of their voices. it should be genetics or it should be practice from a youthful age. Celine Dion has a exceptionally voice. Christina Ag, JoJo, purple and the white singers over in England which have tremendous, solid voices were all inspired via way of black singers. look it up.
