If its your assigned spot, be a man and face him like a man and simply ask him to not park in your space any more. Be nice about it. Give him two chances to stop and on the 2nd time tell him you really don't want to tow his vehicle but you will if pushed. On the 2nd time it happens, Send him a registered letter that states you will have it towed if it happens again and before you do tow it, document the dates and times you warned him and snap a picture of his vehicle in your spot. Keep a copy of the letter you sent him for your files. I know it sounds like alot of trouble, but with all that backing you up, he won't have a leg to stand on if he takes you to court.

If it is a public street or apartment complex that does not have designated spots, there is nothing you can do, it is public space and he/she has right to park there, although many places have a 24 hr rule...the vehicle can only legally be there for a 24 hr period.
If they are parking in or blocking your driveway, you have the right to call a tow truck to have them towed at their expense.

If it's legally yours call the cops. My brother lived in Hoboken NJ and had to purchase his parking space for $5000. That was an private underground parking garage and if someone parked in his spot they could be towed. If your in a similar situation call your building manager and complain, if its a street parking spot you consider yours there's nothing you can do......legally.

In most cities and towns, all parking spaces unless designated otherwise is public space. Your neighbor has the right to park in it as well as you.
I have 2 parking spaces in front of my house, my neighbor has only one space in front of his house. He has two cars, and often parks it so that I can not park my car with out the door being blocked by a tree on the sidewalk.
This is annoying, but he has a right to park in a
public parking space.

Have someone make you a sign and put it in the place where you park and that will solve your problem or you could go over and tell them where you park and tell them to stop parking there.

If he parks in front of your house on the public street you can and should do nothing about it as its a public street and he or she pays taxes for that street just like you do and you don't (OWN) the street in front of your house the public does!.However, if you live in a apartment your space is assigned to you by the apt. management and you should take it up with them and they should do something about it. I would sagest, that if you come home and find that someone has already parked in front of your house that you park somewhere else down the street.

I would leave a note asking him not to park there, and warning that you will call a tow truck next time. If he still does it, follow through with the threat.

If the parking spot is assigned to you, then call the tow truck company and they will take care of it. I guarantee your neighbor won't park there any more.

If its a reserved spot for you, then either tell your landlord or call the police and have them issue a ticket. Just make sure you can prove you have the rights to that spot. If its not a reserved spot for you then your out of luck.
