Debbie Schlussel makes me proud to be an atheist. I hope I never, ever sound like her to anyone I speak to.

HOLY ****. Reading that article makes me very glad I live in the North. I've never encountered that here. The only time I've come close to something even similar was in a little village I once visited. They were incredibly bgioted, towards everyone that was not WASP.

It depends on the focus of the discussion. I didn't see it but if they were discussing religious peoples views of atheists, it would make sense that there would be no atheists.

I agree that it was unfair. CNN isn't supporting it, though. They had the clip about the atheists. The second clip was about how religious people think about the results from studies about atheists, though, so it wasn't really discriminating against them.

That's really worrisome. Thanks for posting. I knew there was a reason I didn't watch CNN. Can you imagine that poor family who let them film them, thinking "Finally, someone sympathetic to our problems," then saw all the awful stuff that panel said after wards? That's betrayal.

More evidence of the persecution of Christians.

Oh wait.

By the way, I can't help but be irked that people talk about "atheists are people who don't believe in God" -- the correct statement would be, "atheists who do not believe in Gods".

There were some atheists, but the weight was toward religion. Here's a group designed to propound atheism.

Debbie Schlussel is insane. Why anyone would have her on any panel is beyond me. She knows a lot of stuff, don't get me wrong, but the woman is certifiable!

Thanks for the link.

Ugh...why does this not surprise me at all?

Anyway, I sent Paula Zahn my thoughts on the matter.

Yes, I think it was unfair that an atheist was not present to defend themselves or tell their side of the story
