The cycle of racism needs to stop and at least you are trying and succeeding so far.It is a parents responsablity to teach there children that all people are Gods loving children and no race is bad. There are bad people of every race, but no bad race .Love is the key to all life,no matter what it is .Your job, your family, people on the street, what you enjoy doing, different races, sexual orientations(gay or straight),people who think or act differently, daily life, helping others,God most of all,,,,,,,,,,,,,etc.

I recently had an enlightening moment that made things much clearer for me. Though I still find pointless racism to be a major problem in this country, I no longer question where the hatred comes from. A friend recently explained to me in a very simple way why hatred is ingrained in the lives of humans. The explanation shows that hatred is as natural as love. Basically, the argument is that there can be no love without hatred. The bigger and deeper the hate that exists in this world, the greater the possible love that can exist. Because in nature every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This is a law of physics. It is so well understood that the idea has been around for many centuries. Not just in science but also with the Yin and Yang. I am not saying simply add to the hatred, but understand that it is as human to hate as it is to love.

I'm confused by the statement, you're not but you "have to try". The question is why? While teachings by the elders may cause one to be racist, there is no explanation as to why be racist. The main cause was the superiority status of a race. Times have changed, good or bad. I'm not racist in context, but there are many dislikes I hold on individuals besides their race.

My mother was kinda racist. My father taught me both by word and by action that the value of a person has nothing to do with their distinguishing physical characteristics or where they grew up.

My parents were also afraid but I have learned and come to believe that there is "bad and evil" in all races. To judge the entire race as negative because of one or two individuals, is short sighted and unfair.

I grew up with parents and grandparents that felt the black race was inferior. they didnt try to make me believe that, but it does rub off. I am smart enough to know the difference and make my own decisions about people regardless of what race they are.

YOU HAVE TO TRY?!?! Ok, ok, get your notebook. You need to be your own person, and use your intelligence. People are people, and they are going to be who they want to be. I am not just the color of my skin. Take the reasons they give you to fear other races, and then prove them right or wrong. Because I could fear races due to history, or I can move forward and rise and be strong.
.......be strong my friend.
