we have been dating for almost a year and still have not said those three words. of course, i do love him, but i don't want to be the first to say it. he has been through the ringer from his last two major relationships and is scared to death of the thought of marrying again. so, basically, i do not want to scare him on valentines day. any suggestions?

Get him a neutral card.

If it's been a year, and he's still afraid to get attached to you - you may be wasting your time. Using one's past as an excuse to be dysfunctional in the present is lame, IMO. So don't go all crazy for Valentine; if you two are not in love, then this isn't the holiday for you to celebrate.

Think of something nice to do for him! Bt not something over the top, have fun during valentine's day!
And Maybe during this time would be the time to say "I Love You"!!
But that is up to you!
Buena Suerte
Good Luck!

take him out to dinner. or get him a movie, or a shirt, or an i-pod shuffle and fill it with his favorite songs.
