It takes 3/4 of the butter to equal 3/4 cups of butter. Many sticks of butter have the amount on the sides and you can just measure it there. It will tell you how many cups are in one stick, which is one cup is 1 stick.

4 sticks to pound and if I am not mistaken its written on the paper wrapper. But okay I will humor you. 1 stick is a quarter of a pound or 4 oz. 3/4 cup is 6 oz. So 1 and half sticks.

1 stick of butter = 1/2 cup

so

1-1/2 sticks of butter = 3/4 cup

or

3/4 cup butter = 6 ounces of oil (which is better for you)

so

If you use oil instead of butter you will have a healthier dish.
