Memory can be positively affected by challenging the brain in different ways. For example, I read that if you do cross word puzzles (which is good for brain) and focus more on the items you can't figure out, instead of the ones you know easily that it helps improve overall brain functioning. Make yourself learn a new skill. Your brain is being trained and forming new connections during the process of your learning a new skill. Also, each time a person introduces him or herself to you for the first time, immediatley repeat their name and then try to store into long term memory. Sleep, nutrition, and exercise are very important to brain function, as well.
