here is how I do it. I put about 1/4 cup of oats in a blender and chop it up until it is powdery. Then I add some fruit, a little raw sugar or honey, my favorite flavor of yogurt, and some milk. Mix it well and you have a yogurt smoothie with oatmeal in it.
(I also like using chocolate flavored yogurt and malted milk flavoring when I don't feel like having fruit.)
I then pour this into an empty water bottle and I have a "milk-shake" to go.

Boil in half water, half milk. Add when done, brown sugar with a touch of cinnamon and plump raisins. If you like your raisins a little softer, add them just before the oatmeal is done. Butter and milk go with saying.

You can add cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh fruit, dried fruit, honey, maple syrup, brown sugar. If you want to have a creamier taste add a little milk. I like my oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon or if I don't have any brown sugar maple syrup.

There are many flavors that add more appeal then just plain oatmeal. Plus you can add fruit like bananas or berries. You can add maple syrup or sweet and low to sweeten it up..

I make plain oatmeal, then mix in a spoonful of reduced fat peanut butter and a small box of raisins. It's a low fat breakfast that is really tasty! Enjoy!
