me and my X...we went out for like 8 months and a half..and he says he loves me and im his best friend in the world and he says even though we are not goin out i still see you as my girl and that will never change.....but me and him we always fight ..not fist fight but you know..but like i dont understand he gets mad over the simplest things...someone help!

This is a sure case of him not wanting you really, but also not wanting anyone else to have you. This way he can call you his girl then when you fight he feels less guilt when he goes to see his other girl(s). This is unhealthy and unfair to you both. Either really get together and work things out by compromising, or just agree to move on and give one another space before you can be "best friends".

So what if he get's mad, there's a reason why you and him are not together. Let him go......... Look for happiness, not in a person but find it in you. That's great you and him can be friends. You deserve to have many friends and let him know that too,............... You will have many friends since you and im aren't an item any more. I bet he'll love you more or move on

Why are you trying to figure this old relationship out? My guess is that he fights over simple things because he is jealous. With guys this often comes out in weird ways but insecurity is like that.

you and every other girl in the world go through this...

you guys just have to learn to fight constructivley and fair ..
and understand that the other person is not out to get you..
