For now, take it slowly. You will bond without trying to. If you try to bond too soon, you may end up annoying each other. Remember, you don't have to be best friends, but you can be confidantes. It's ok if you and she have different groups, in fact -- that's probably healthy. I was never best friends with any of my roommates, and if given a choice, I would have chosen other people. But I'm happy for having the experience of living with different people. We got along fine and it was always an uncomplicated friendship I could count on.

I've been in that situation, except it was a nerdy guy roommate - so not so comfortable. Tell her that you'd like to get to know her better and maybe go to the gym together, friend date nights are always fun, whether it be going to the movies, get one of those board games where you have to answer questions and just take your time with it, but the important part is to just point blank tell her and don't let it drag on, because that can be more uncomfortable.

no point in hating the roomate you're going to be seeing alot
dont be the roomy from hell that like leaves underwear all over the place, but make her laugh
ask her if she wants to go out with you when you met up with friends or going to the mall for clothing
break the ice, if you ask me having a roomate that you're practically BFFs with makes alot of things better

best way to attract is just a genuine smile..everytime your room mate looks at you just give a nice smile..it will lighten his heart..
share whatever you have i mean some thoughts or some eatables etc...
ask him frequently what he want..
share some jokes and make him smile...
