Coca Cola Zero - Sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium., the reason this is different than Diet Coke is Coca Cola Zero is a sugar free version of the Classic Coke formulation. In other words, this is meant to be a sugar free version of the red cans of Coke you know and may or may not love. It has a redder, deeper color close to the color of Classic Coke and tastes far less like a diet soda (by many accounts) than Diet Coke.

Coke makes several "diet" products, each with slightly different ingredients to fit a different market.

The main three are: Diet Coke, Diet Coke with Splenda, and Coke Zero.

Coke Zero was made to taste like regular Coke. You may or may no agree, but that was the intention. It's made for people that don't want a diet-tasting drink. It's also made for people that don't like to be associated with anything diet. Market studies show than young men will drink "Zero" but not "Diet" because they think "Diet" is a girly thing. For real.

The Diet drinks have a different formula that gives a slightly different taste. The regular uses aspartame, while the Splenda uses.. well, that should obvious. The Diet drinks are available in flavors (e.g., lime, cherry-vanilla) and caffeine free. Zero is not available in flavors.

The artificial sweetener is different, so the taste is completely different. Coke Zero is more like real Coke, but if they got rid of Diet Coke, some people would have a fit.
