It shouldn't be a big deal if you're a year older than this guy! In fact, he'd probably be flattered that an "older woman" is interested in him. Go for it! A year apart in age is pretty insignificant. Good luck!

You shouldn't listen to your friends are not like him just because of his age. No offence but that's a stupid reason to not like someone. My husband is a year younger then I am and I didn't care about his age when I feel in love with him. Age shouldn't matter. Don't listen to your friends and don't worry about his age. If you like him then go and ask him out.

Assuming that you are not teenagers then one year younger is absolutely nothing. My wife is nine years older than me and we have been happily married for 13 years.
