Influence is our downfall. We are no longer relying on our experience for the years gone by or just and inner idea.
also the support that the mas man and the pan man and the calyspo singers need not there.
everybody traveling and coming back with a virus that leading us to piece of clothes and jump up songs and no south pan bands in finals

Carnival heading down the bikini and bead road for quite a few years....but I must say the Trini Revellers band are trying to revive pretty mas...dat is mas....

the worse for me as a former female masquerader was seeing females in thongs without tights sitting on the dutty duuty pavement....

To me it is going in the wrong direction and that direction is that now only middle or upper class people can play mas. The costumes are just swim wear and you pay a wopping $3,500 TT dollars for that crap.

I say enjoy jouvet and panorama and then find a soca band to jump up with in the streets.

I totally agree with you. It's not the same anymore. Carnival was a celebration of the freedom of the slaves now it's just a time to "jump, wine, wave and misbehave" and to see who you'd get lucky with each night.
