Techinically, it is when the male organ penetrates the vagina. This is true whether ejacuation or orgasm occur.
By some cultures it involves the breaking of the hymen in a female, but that can occur without the above occuring but in every culture, it is true when the above does occur.

It's suppose to mean when the girl gets rid of her himon inside of the vagina(popping the cherry) but most people just associate losing the virginity with just intercourse even if it was for a minute.

Having sex for the first time, it doesn't matter to us non-virgins!
People say it's intercourse(man and women) then again gay people have same sex sex, so I play safe and say people are Virgins to Intercourse, Oral, Anal, or not virgins to that.

For the most part it is stricly mental. Guys masturbate and most women use Tampex at some time. True virginity is gone. It is strictly a mental religious thing.
