Sounds like you need another doctor. Seriously, this isn't going to get any better until you get a doctor who is willing to take your pain seriously. I'd ask to have a neurologist involved, a CAT scan is normal to make sure there aren't any other problems. A bad migraine can cause you to be so sick to your stomach you can't even hold down a pain reliever; in some cases it requires a trip to the emergency room.
Many migraine sufferers I know are getting releife from Imitrex, either in tablet or nasal spray in slight cases, or by self injector.
Some are using standard pain meds to keep the pain under contril when there are other issues

You need to find a new doctor and get a referral to a neurologist,. There are tons of medications out there that are used to help PREVENT migraines. Also you didn't mention what migraine meds your doc tried for the pain of them but there is more than one migraine pain relieving med. Since your doc is not taking you seriously find a new doc or at least see a neurologist to get some help.

It could be that you are eating too many foods that make your system too acidic. Too many artificial additives in your food could also be a factor; make a point of checking the labels. Too much stress can also bring them on. Keep a diary of what you are eating to see if you can track down the culprit. I personally had to discover the hard way, that cheese, oranges and bananas were the triggers in my life. Was very frustrated as they are my favourite foods. Hope this helps. P.S. Forgot to mention that on the now (thankfully) rare times when I feel a migraine coming on I drink some peppermint tea, and that helps a lot.

FIND another dr! I also had them, I now only get a few a year. Are you allergic to all prescriptions, or just pain killers? Because there are pills, elevil ( I think is one)that can help to control your headaches. Stress is a big cause, so is diet. Avoid chocolate, hot dogs, and caffiene! The advil is great though!

It sounds like you definately have migranes. Usually you get a kind of "warning" before you get them, like nausea. Can you get another doctor? There are certain tests to confirm the diagnoses. One of the things that triggers migranes is food allergies like chocolate. You may need to go to an allergist also. They can also be triggered by stress and your period. I use Excederin migrane and it works VERY well. But there are much stronger meds that you can get for them. check out webmd.com for more information. But most of all, get to the doctor! (and you might want to discuss this with one of your parents as well) feel better!

Perhaps a bulging disc in your spine is causing these. My g/f has a bulging disc in her neck from a car accident a while back that is causing her migraines.
