Well i got a tongue ring 3 months ago and what you are feeling isn't an infection. You are going to experience tongue soreness and the stinginess because you got a needle in your tongue sooner or later depending on how well your body heals itself you will feel better. You will know when you have an infection because it will be a lot worse. Eat some ice for the swelling and soreness and avoid certain foods that will get inside of the hole to cause the stinginess. The most important thing you can do is call the person who did the piercing for you and talk to them about your concerns.

Yes sounds like an infection. Get this treated ASAP.

it is probably plaque building up. would recommend removing it for just a bit and clean it. and yes there is something wrong. you got your tongue pierced.
