Ok, imagine you're really close to someone and you've started falling for them but you couldn't be with them because they were already in a relationship, or their family would not approve, or they just lived too far away. Anything that meant you couldn't be with them even though you really, really want to. What would you do?

I am in love with someone who was at one point way too old for me. When age wasn't a problem anymore, my family didn't approve. When I stopped caring about my families approval, he started a job that keeps him away from me weeks at a time. We've been together over a year now and our relationship is GREAT. My point is, if something is meant to be, it will inevitably be. If the problems with being together are able to be fixed, or overcome, then work at it. If not, move on with your life. No point dwelling on the impossible.

Well it really does depend on what the reason is, But if they had a family I would walk away and deal with it. No one should be that selfish to hurt a family for their personal needs. I know how you feel, really I do, I have been committed to someone with and had a child with them but fell in love with a friend. It was torture, so I stopped talking to my friend all together. It was difficult especially since he had feelings also, but my daughter was more important. Most of your other reasons if the feelings are strong enough, none of that would matter and the relationship would find a way.

Depends on what situation it is, if its cause they live far away then i would make the effort of talking to them and seeing them when i could. Family not agreeing well i would say stuff you its my life and i like that person, if they were in a relationship then i would just for get it until one day they split. But get out there and look for another young man to make you happy, its going to be hard but I'm sure you will see the light in the end.
Good luck.

I think that u should tell the person how u feel first, and c wot their reaction is! u never know, if they're in a relationship then they might not be happy and they may feel the same way about you! After u hav told them then just leave the situation in there hands, if they love u the same amount then they will do anything in there power to be with u, if they truely love u they will not care about family or distances, but if they dont then just accept it because one day, someone will find u and love u just the way u want! love is never convienent...so dont give up because of circumstances! Gd luck!! :-)

Run! The longer you hang around knowing that there is no possibility of a relationship the worse your broken heart will be. Additionally, you don't want somebody who would defy an existing relationship and his family or values to be with you if they don't mesh with yours because ultimately that means he would do it to you. Lastly, if you care for him and really want him to be happy then help him by not making his life more complicated. In the mean time don't give yourself a broken heart when you know you can prevent it by leaving him alone now.

Well, I'd give myself space from seeing anything about that someone, whether it's talking or simply looking at pictures. Unfortunately, he's with someone else in a relationship. There are a million guys out there who are single and worth your time and effort to try dating.

Just remember, you will still have a friend even if you cannot see them everyday or every week. I'd space it out for my sake, you know?

I will answer this from the perspective that you absolutely can't be with them. You need some kind of crutch. If it is possible, a bit of distance for a duration of time couldn't hurt. Perhaps you might lean on the company of a good friend and enjoy a laugh or something.

I fell in love years ago with someone i cant be with. Not only do i feel like im betraying his wife and my girlfriend ( even though nothing has ever happened ) but i have missed ample oppurtunities to be with someone who can committ 100% to me.

I think the fear of not being wanted by someone who is available has in some way contributed to the pattern of falling for people who arent available.

In my case i had to cut myself off altogether. That was 12 months ago and i still feel it but have met a few good people who can commit to me.

Keep contact with the person and maybe some day the timing will be right and you will be with that person.
But you gotta keep living your life the way you want to. Being in a relationship is not the only thing life has to offer.

Break all contact and go on holiday to a lovely hot sunny country for 3 weeks. If you couldnt afford that, just tell them you are going away for 3 weeks, get on with your social life, go out and have fun. That way you will find other things to enjoy.
