I know it is annoying because I used to have it happen to me all the time when I would baby sit my older friend's daughter's when I was 14-16 and everyone that saw me with them thought they were my children when I considered myself just barely past childhood myself.
On the occassions when I was bold enough to correct them and ask they why they though the children were mine they said it was hard to tell what my age was (they thought I was about 3 years older than I was) and.sadly, because the majority of the time, it IS the young girl's baby. My friend that had the two children was only 5 years older than I was and had her first child at 16 and the second one by 18.
It did make me think twice about becoming a parent and I waited until I was 31 and have been twice been asked now if my son was my GRANDSON!

Nowadays, we live in a world where parents are having children at an older age and teens are having kids at ages as young as 9 years old (I should know, a friend of mine who is only 17 has a kid aged 7). Its not something to be alarmed about if they ask you that question. I was 15 when my parents had my youngest baby brother. Obviously, that question has been asked: That baby yours?. Don't feel put out by this, its just the society we live in.

I have a similar problem with my brother. He's only 2 years older than me so when we hang out together, people assume that we are a couple. It's a gross and rude assumption! Don't worry about what people think, when they ask if it's yours then they'll feel really stupid when you say "No, I'm too young to have children, this is my little brother." Then they will be left feeling embarrassed, and you feeling triumphant. Don't let it bother you. They are wrong for making false assumptions.

Good question. I think we as humans sometimes like to assume the worse. My daughter has 4 children and is always asked" do they have the same Father" Yup they do! Lol
Next time someone is rude enough to ask tell them he is your grandson! I hope you are enjoying this time with your brother and know that your parents are thankful for the helping hand. Your a good daughter and a wonderful big sister.

Its really just a question, but i guess i can see where your coming from.
I have a 2 year old mixed daughter, and i was with my african american friend at the store i had left her in the basket with my friend and was about 5 feet away looking at something when a lady asked my black friend if the baby was hers.
Its like when you see two guys together, you may ask is that your cousin, brother friend you know. 90% of the time its really just a question.

Sweetheart its just human nature. Just like when your driving a car people think its yours. Like buying groceries the salesperson and others think its our own shopping. I socialise dogs and walk down the street and automatically others assume the pup is mine. Just human nature so dont take offence with it and be proud of yourself and the love you have for your special little brother.
All up, does it really matter what people think?? No not really, dont let it bother you ok. Just stand proud and say, no he is my brother and when i have a baby I want a boy just like him, then hold your head high and walk on.

Yeh, they're just hating. Its common now a days for a girl to get pregnant and have a child young so that's what they most of the time automatically think that the baby is the young girls. Don't pay attention to them, you know the truth.

Unfortunately it has become all to common for young girls having babies. So people automatically assume.
If they annoy you.. tell them that you were 12 and he is yours! they deserve it for being judgmental.
