It all depends on the individual. Perhaps you should consult a doctor or a dietitian.

Calorie diets dont work, you should try weight watchers its great and easy and you can eat all the foods you love to eat as long as you stay with you point counts, there are 2 eating plans to follow the "core" and the "points" personally i think the points plan is the best all you do is keep a track of the foods you eat per day and count the points in the food you eat. I have been doing this for 4 weeks now and have lost 7LBs it may not seem alot but i already feel better in my self and i am now in a routine for eating and dont need to snack in between meals.

How many calories are you eating now? Start out by counting the number you eat normally; then shave some off slowly. I don't do calorie restriction diets myself, because they are so daunting. But I do try to lower my portion sizes and eat healthier food when I see myself slipping into bad habits. If you look at it as a lifestyle change instead of a straight calorie reduction "diet," it might stick with you longer. Try reducing the current number of calories you consume now by 500, then figure out what you can cut out of your meals to allow this. It is best if you make sure what is left is nutritionally balanced and filling; also cut out soft drinks, substituting water or tea/coffee. It is simply a matter of retraining your habits. That is something you would have to work out yourself based on your current and projected lifestyle. BTW, bravo on the exercise! Diets usually don't work without it!

Don't count calories. Most health clubs tell you that if you want to lose weight, cut down on carbs, if you want to gain, eat more carbs. Most women don't eat enough protein and are told to eat protein with every meal.

Just cut out junk foods most of the time, have a little bit of what you crave now and then, but for the most part eat healthy. Keep moving and you will lose weight without feeling the stress of a diet. Most all diets end in failure, so don't set yourself up to fail. Just be healthy and it sounds like you are doing great!

You should add your weight and height. That would be very helpful. I would assume 1,500 and then gradually decrease every week 100 calories a day.
