Oscar gets alot of attention. We only have 3 children at home, the other 2 are older. Oscar is part of our family we take him for rides. He has his own toys. He is treated for goodness. We love him like a child of ours. I do think maybe going to obidence school sounds the best. He really dosent have to much time to be bored or ignored. He does get walks. Due to weather not like he use to. That could be one of his problems. I am really concerned on his pottying, we have been told to have him fixed. Can I get some feed back on this. Thank you.........Oscar family

Doxies are a very strong willed stubborn dog.
It sounds like you little guy could use some training.
Get into a training calss with him. He sounds like he has some un used energy and could use to learn some direction.
Walk him or play more with him to burn off some of the energy and work on training him to do at least basic obedience.
With five kids you must have your hands full. You need to find a few minutes each day to work on training him something like sitting before he is given his food. Make him do something for it. To eran his dinner. If the kids are old enough have them walk him some. Walking helps to establish dominance over the dog.
Hopefully you find something to help.
Doxies are great but they can be tought little dogs.

He sounds like he's not well trained and bored. Get him more exercise, make sure he's got plenty of toys and take him for obedience training. Dogs need exercise as well as mental stimulation to keep their brains occupied. A bored dog is a destructive dog.

He needs to have a daily walk and his own toys that he is allowed to chew...and if he has not had any training classes, he'd better have them now!

EDIT: Well, that explains it...you NEED to get him fixed!! He's marking his territory and he is taking his sexual aggression out on everything!! He should have been fixed 6 months ago.

He needs to have daily exercise and attention.

He also needs to know that you guys are alpha not him. Otherwise, he will take control of the house and you don't want that.

Have you taken him to dog obedience classes? If not, you should take him.
