Amen sister.

Thank you for having to courage to say that out loud and in public. Jesus Christ would be proud to have you as his daughter.

Let's take a look at this statement. We all have concern for the homeless except when they are just panhandlers and actually have a home. This bit of your question is fairly accurate. Now, as to why atheists are upset when Christians treat others as morally homeless: Just who are you referring to? I can say that I have not ever met anyone without some sort of morals - I many not agree with them or some parts of their moral systems, but most people have them. A truly amoral person is very hard to find.

Just like treating a non-homeless person as a homeless person, you probably have found that most moral persons don't like to be judged as being amoral. The line of reasoning, or lack thereof, you have displayed here is one of the reasons I left Christianity.

That's weird, it seems in America that Christians are usually against helping the poor and homeless. Perhaps I'm just focusing on christian republicans, but they are against social programs and giving to the poor and hold the crazy idea that they can just get a job, you know, without an address, shower, proper clothes, or a phone number. They strive to attain wealth for themselves and please their conscious by giving a few cents of dues at church or a few cans of food at a can drive, rather than looking at the real problems. But this is just in my local churches, it may be different elsewhere.

And what does being atheist have to do with any set morals? There is not set group of atheist, they're a vast and unique group from all different cultures. How could they have an opinion together?

What are you talking about? I'm atheist and I've been homeless. No one cared. The Christians told me to go back to my abusive family. The atheists said the government cut the budget for help. I think it's laughable to have concern for the homeless. I think it's comendable to do something about it. So what have you done?

And how dare you assume I have no morals? I've studied ethics. What have you done, quoted from some two-thousand year old, mis-translated book? I doubt you know the first thing about morals.

Telling the homeless to bow and beg before an imaginary sky pixie does no good. In fact it does harm. They waste time with religious mumbo jumbo while they could be improving their education, getting counseling, or doing something productive.

Because Christians don't really know what morality is.

Maybe because Christians don't obey Jesus' word about helping out the less-fortunate. He didn't just say it to blow air, it was a commandment. You WILL do it.

it may be easy to understnad morals in your own reality. but everyone has there own reality an with that there own morals. so its not hard to understand why people seem to have diffrent moral values. nobody comes with instructions when there born so theres a diffrent stoy to everyone. theres going to be people with same morals as you but alot wont. as for the homeless i stop feeling sorry for them because they refuse to stop abusing drugs and or actually make more money then minumum wage. an those who dont fit into those categorys simple want to be homeless

you must be a republican. What a great track record your freinds have with the homeless. Do you even relize how offensive your statement is. I think you probably do.
