It was with an oth and it was 3 years ago. Since then I have gotten an AA degree in criminal justice and will probably start as a police officer in the next month.

Nobody is going to touch you with an RE-4.

In fact I am very surprised that you qualified to be a police officer with one.

I'm surprised a Police force is going to pick you up with an RE4 code in the military. Some of this depends on the branch of service... if you're Navy... not happening!

i worked in a separations center 25 years ago and at that time a re-4 code disqualified a service member from re-enlistment. i think you would have a good chance of having your code changed in light of the current staffing situation in the armed forces.
the thing to do is talk to a recruiter. they have a vested interest in getting you enlisted. just don't lie on any forms, no matter what the recruiter tells you.
good luck and semper fi.

some Guard units will take RE4s on a case by case basis.. it all depends on the reason for it.

No. They won't take you no matter what you do.
