The angels were created before the earth and were all united in worshiping God at one point(Job 38:4-7). Then not long after Adam and Eve were created, the issue came up as to whether we should listen to God, with regards to what is right and wrong for us to do. This was basicially a rebellion that was started by satan the devil, who became a fallen angel. The issue included both the angels and humans, and as time went on more and more angels followed satan (Genesis 6:1-2), and the Bible doesn't say when they stopped. It does say though that a third of all the angels followed satan (Revelation 12:3-4) and that they controlling the earth from behind the scenes (Revelation 12:9, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4).
The issue has pretty much been resolved now, and it is obvious that we do need God to tell us right from wrong. You only have to look at the world. Soon armgeddon will come, God will put His only begotton son in charge of the earth, and will run things as they should (2 Peter 3:3-10).
There's lot's of things to learn, and it's impossible to do it by yourself. Honestly, the best thing that you could do is have a free Bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses.

John 17:3
This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

The angels were here before the earth was created. God has used them for many things. To carry out his will, to protect his people, to foretell prophecy to give visions and dreams to prophets. Ps 34:7; 1 Co. 4:9; 1 Pe. 1:12; Re 22:6; Ge. 19:15; Ex 3:2, Ex 23:20; Mat 22:30; Mat 28:2; Acts 5:19; Ga 1:8 Heb 13:2; 2 Pe 2:4, 11; Rev. 7, 14 (Rev. is full of angels giving visions)

There are different types of angels with different duties. Archangel (1 Tim 4:16; Jude 9) Serahs (Isa. 6:6) Cherubs (Ps 18:10; Eze 28:14, Heb 9:5, Ex 25:22; 1 Sa 4:4; Ps 99:1; Eze10:2) and messenger angels.

Jehovah has always been and Jesus his only begotten Son was directly created by God. Everything else, angels, earth, humans, animals were all created with the help of Jesus.
John 1:1 say the Word (Jesus) was with God in the beginning. vs. 3 says that "all things came into existence because of him"

Satan was not always a bad angel. John 8:44 says that he "did not stand fast in the truth". So he must at one time be "in the truth". Angels have free choice just like humans, Satan abused his freedom of choice, allowing feelings of self-importance to develop in his heart, began to crave worship that belonged only to God, and enticed Adam and Eve to listen to him rather than obey God. Gen 3; 2 Co. 11:14; 2 Co. 12: 7; Rev. 12:3 & 4 & 12

There are myriads of myriads of angels or thousands of thousands. Rev. 5:11 Satan took a third of them with him. Which became demons. Rev 12:4. Rev. 12:12 Shows that Satan along with his demons were thrown out of heaven and down to the vicinity of the earth. This took place when Jesus began ruling as King in Heaven at the end of the Gentile times. Which calculated from bible prophecy would be 1914. Look at what has happen to the world since 1914. 1st World War and on... It has been stated the the world went mad in 1914. Rev. 12:12 goes on to say that Satan is "mad knowing he has a short period of time."

Yeah, and if he had angels, why did he need us? What the hell was the point? I thought angels didn't have free will, which was the purpose of us, so that he could have a creature that had free will and chose to worship him, then after some dimension he created, called time, he would discard those that didn't follow his plan, since we are all dirt after all and he would reward those that chose his pathetic path of self gratification with an eternity in his presence. Furthermore if angels didn't have free will how did they rebel? And if they rebelled they did it before creation, otherwise how did satan get to earth? And if in the beginning there was only god, when did he create the angels? the bible leaves that part out. I think god is an angel, the strongest one, and he submissed the rest of the angels and cast them out of heaven. God isn't as strong as we believe, he has weaknesses, he cannot control satan, he could not stop a rebellion in his own house, no wonder this planet is such a mess.

Which creation story in the bible?

The Genesis 1 story? The Genesis 2 story? The one alluded to in the Psalms, with the struggle between God and Leviathan or Rahab?

The order of creation in Genesis 1 is: heaven and earth, light, vault of heaven (i.e., separation of earthly and heavenly waters), seas and dry land, plants, sun and stars, fish and birds, land animals, and last humans. (This order is the same as that of the Persian Zend-Avesta, the sacred book of the Zoroastrians. The order of creation in Egyptian mythology, which would surely have been familiar to the priestly author, is ocean, sun, atmosphere, earth, and sky.)

The order of creation in Genesis 2 is: heaven and earth, man, trees and the Garden of Eden, animals and birds, woman.

In Genesis 1 the earth is first covered by water. In Genesis 2 the earth is first dry and barren.

In Genesis 1 God creates by simple command: "And God said, let there be light, and there was light." In Genesis 2 God manufactures his creations from dirt or earth, walks in the garden in the cool of the evening, and cannot find the humans when they are hiding.

Not only are the creation stories inconsistent, but the conceptions of the power of the deity are utterly different.

So, you should expect to continue to be confused by the whole angels thing, as there isn't one coherent story on the rest of it.

The "big hubbub" in heaven occured before the creation of the earth. Isaiah 14. Lucifer, the first angel to fall, falls from grace in this chapter. Angels are too numerous to count, but they are heaven's spiritual warriors and God's messengers.
1/3 of them went with Lucifer.

Genesis 1:1 seems to state that the creation of everything in heaven (besides God Himself) and everything on earth happened in the same "first day".

Also, the act of tempting Eve to eat the fruit appears to have been the act of rebellion that satan committed. His fall, and man's, were at the same time. There are scriptures in Ezekel that place satan in the garden, still serving God, before the fall of man. His act of rebellion, in which he tried to take the place of God, was the act of tempting Eve and trying to take possession of her (and Adam).

As far as angels being created in God's image - no they were not. They were created to be servants to help those who would become Christians.

Angels don't appear in the Bible until half way through Genesis, so there is no evidence that they existed before the world.

Also, Lucifer is only mentioned in a very brief passage as 'falling from heaven'. Heaven in this sence doesn't refer to the afterlife (that actually came much later in the religion) but in paradise. Lucifer was a prince who fell from paridise by being thrown out of the palace. Lucifer was not an angel.

Satan means 'the adversary' and, on many occasions, God acts as 'the adversary' (take the battle in 1 Kings, for example)

Beelzebub is a 'false god' from the middle east.

The Devil is a mythical creature from the native religions of central Europe who stole people's souls. This has been tangled into the story of Satan, Lucifer and Beelzebub. Also, the beast (666 or 616 depending on translation) is metaphorical and could refer to our intrinsic evil.

So, in that sence, why should there be any kind of evil being at all?

Finally, I should point out that 'Angel' just means 'Messanger', and God was supposed to have used many people as messangers. It is subtly different to prophets because messangers didn't fortell the will of God, they just delivered it. Angels are not winged creates resembling humans who play harps with halos etc etc etc... this is all false doctrine.

All these things I say come from the Bible directly, and so anyone who say "I am a Christian and I believe in the devil" or "I am a Christian and I believe in angels" clearly hasn't read the Bible.

The story about Lucifer being an Angel and falling from heaven has permeated through history via tradition and story-telling... not from the Bible. Anyone who tells you differently has never read it.

I guess it takes an Atheist to tell Christians what their religion ACTUALLY teaches. And now, let's see how many thumbs-down I am awarded for pointing out what they should already know.

We are not told about that. One of my favorite Christian authors, Beth Moore says she hopes it will all be on DVD to watch when we get to Heaven. Once we get there we will know everything. Here is what we know from the bible, the angels were around when God created the world. They have powers we do not. They are talked about in the context of being mighty warriors, guardians of the earth. There are said to be angels over each portion of the earth and they battle each other for their people. The angel of the Jewish people is Michael. Christ was not an angel, He is superior to the angels.

I can't wait to know more.

The word Angel means messenger
The bible doesn't say when they were created.
Satan was NOT booted out of heaven until he tempted Eve, most don't know this. It's in the old test. So the big fight was AFTER man was created/ Adam and Eve.
Very interesting.
Ezekiel 28
13 You were in Eden,
the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
ruby, topaz and emerald,
chrysolite, onyx and jasper,
sapphire, [b] turquoise and beryl. [c]
Your settings and mountings [d] were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared.

14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.

15 You were blameless in your ways
from the day you were created
till wickedness was found in you.

16 Through your widespread trade
you were filled with violence,
and you sinned.
So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God,
and I expelled you, O guardian cherub,
from among the fiery stones.

17 Your heart became proud
on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom
because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth;
I made a spectacle of you before kings.

18 By your many sins and dishonest trade
you have desecrated your sanctuaries.
So I made a fire come out from you,
and it consumed you,
and I reduced you to ashes on the ground
in the sight of all who were watching.

19 All the nations who knew you
are appalled at you;
you have come to a horrible end
and will be no more.' "
