A boy I'm crushing on is Mormon. Big problem.....I'm not! If we were to ever get together, it would be a big problem, right? I'm not babtized into any religion, but he's a serious mormon. He's even going on a mission after HS. I would still LOVE to be with him, but I don't think he'd feel the same way. Do mormons Have to marry religious girls? I would never change for a guy, but I would like some advice! Thanks so much!

It just depends on the person. It is correct that many Mormon like to marry within their faith (just like many religions), but that is not always how it works out. I'm Mormon and my wife is agnostic. We love each other very much and are very happy. We have been married about 4 years and have a 1 yr old son. However, it is very important to talk about and be open with each other about, because it will always be a hurdle in the relationship. As long as there is mutual respect, communication, love and acceptance of the situation, then all things will be fine.

Having said that, you and he are still very young and I wouldn't worry about it. You should enjoy yourself and not put your life on hold while he goes on a mission. If you happen to be single, and still interested when he gets back, then you can date and see (because maybe he won't be interested anymore either); let him just focus on his mission for those 2 years. Good luck.

I'm LDS and generally, yes, we seek to marry within our faith. But let me point out, you're in high school, it's not really the time we think about marriage - it's the time to date as much as you can and see what you like or don't like in guys, so when the time comes to marry you know what you want.

Anyway, I did date outside my faith in high school (and I think a lot of Mormon kids do - not all, but a lot) because, as I said, dating was a more "for fun" thing then. I just made sure the guys I dated were okay with my dating standards.

Hope that helps

Watch the video, maybe now on DVD, the Godmakers. This will seriously open your eyes as to all the facets of Mormons' belief system.

Better yet, pick up The Book of Mormon and The Pearl of Great Price.

I couldn't get passed the first handful of pages of The Book of Mormon without asking some serious questions of some of my Mormon believing neighbors when I used to live in Utah.....7 yrs, to be precise.

Usually, I hate to tell you, but he'll probably not even consider you part of humanity until you do convert. It's just a fact. All non-Mormons are considered "potential Mormons".

My best friend's sister dated a die-hard Mormon for several years. They KNEW that they were going to be together forever, BUT there was just one problem for him: she was not Mormon. He told her that she would need to convert, or there was no way that they would be together. Guess what? There was no way that she would agree to conversion, and just like that, they split up.

He ended up marrying another woman who looked just like her, but was a devout Mormon....either that, or she converted. Something like that.

Good luck to you and your crush.

If you can, try to get a crush on someone else (when distacted, maybe you can think more reasonably). If not, if you don't want to become a Mormon just for him (good for you) be patient and then there might be a SMALL chance that some day he might change....Good luck with that (eye-roll)

The muslim god is a moon god, and has 3 daughters, the Christian & Jewish God is Jesus (Jews don't know this yet, but will shortly after "they look upon Him Whom they pierced.")He is the Only Begotten of The Father. This elininates allah, because he has 3 daughters. He's not the same as God. In fact, the cults, have different doctrines of Jesus, therefore they have a different Jesus from the True Believers. They have trusted in a jesus that can't save them.

Mormons are pretty serious about having marriages within the church. I have a feeling if he starts getting really serious, you'll be given the "option" to convert.

Never...NEVER...fall for the "OH, I'll change him!" junk. No one is likely to change all that much. Lots of heartache down that road. Look for a man more like yourself. You'll thank me in the end!

No I'm not sure on that but don't expect to be his only wife. Mormons marry like maybe 10 or more women and have children with all of them so if you can deal with that go ahead.

I would imagine he would date and marry other Mormons because they will be able to share EVERYTHING in his life with him and will be able to completely understand his opinions etc.
