Let's assume you don't want domestic relationship advice and only want to know what do about the taxes. First off, If he wants to get caught up it can be done. I have done this for many client over the last several years. If he doesn't want to do this, then you should do your own. You may want to do this even if he does decide to file. You can file for all the years needed where you were married using the filing status as Married filing seperate. This will at least protect you individually from any tax problems he may face in the future, and could end up protecting you home and personal assets from seizure since you have done the right thing. They will almost certainly put a tax lien on the property but more than likely won't seize it aslong as you are there. It leaves him totally exposed, but you need to protect yourself.

If you filed a separate return for those years, you don't need to do anything; it's HIS problem, not yours.
If you did NOT file a separate return for those years, you're in the same box of poop as he is. A consultation with a CPA or tax attorney (and maybe a divorce lawyer) would be entirely in order.
Don't take this issue to a storefront tax prep mill. They don't have the expertise necessary and will NOT formally represent you with the IRS or in Tax Court.

Get a tax lawyer because unless your husband wants to go to jail for tax evasion he will need to file all his back returns and pay the penalties.
Also, if you have not filed a joint return, DON'T! It might not give you much protection, but I wouldn't mingle your taxes with his.

Hire a tax lawyer and file back tax returns.
And divorce the idiot before he takes you down with him.
