Between Spain and France. Spanish men are very chivalrous but it ends up borering on machism as a result. French men are very chivalrous as well, but just like Italian men, it's a different feel to it than spanish men. It's a "je ne sais quoi", making them I guess appear more refined and attentive to the other.

But in general, it's between those 3 countries.

Ummm... Doesn't chivalry belong in the Middle Ages? Is that attitude what you really want in a person? All those restrictive conventions and social obligations? Women worshipped like princesses on pedestals? Macho men whose ego rests on defeating other men in contests? Expectations that you will not be an independent self-reliant person but that you are an actor fulfilling a predetermined role?
.
Probably "chivalrous" attitudes can still be found in Mediterranean countries. If that's what you want, be prepared to be enjoyed and used for a while and then discarded when the next actor comes along. I think people who want to be treated as respected equal human beings, not prizes to be won, will do better on countries where people treat each other as equals, such as Sweden.

Generally, chivalry is more prevalent in the Latin countries (France, Italy, Spain...) over the Germanic (Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia) and Slavic (Russia and Eastern Europe) countries. However, Latin guys are also male chauvinists and sexists so their chivalry has definite ulterior motives.

I, as an American, think that we American males are more chivalrous in the classier sense than those European Latins. But then I also realize some of you ladies are suckers for those Euro trash types until you really wise up to them.
