I've included a link for reviews for you to check out, click on member reviews as well to get a lot more reviews and some more recent. Just be sure to read carefully, some people will rate the ship bad over something little, so make sure that you think about it a little and decide if what they are saying was bad will affect you. I actually read reviews and look for the negative reviews, I tend to ignore the good ones. If they rate the ship good, that is great, that is all I need to know. But, I want to know what people dislike about the ship.

As far as the Spirit, this is one of NCLs nicer ships. Everything is pretty good on the ship, including the dining, children's programs, service, etc. The rooms are not my favorite, but they still are pretty nice.

The only thing with NCL is that some people love them, some people hate them. The reason is they have freestyle cruising. So, you get to decide when you eat and who you eat with. The problem is a few things. First, you may have a little, and in some cases a long wait to get seated. Also, they have a lot more restaurants that charge a surcharge, meaning you have to pay additional money, around $20, sometimes more, sometimes less, this is something some people don't like to pay additional.

Again, NCL is a favorite for some, but the people that don't like it, just don't like it. I like NCL, but not as one of my favorite lines.

I hope this helps!

We went on the NCL Spirit 2 years ago to the Southern Caribbean. The ship is nice; we had a balcony cabin and it was roomy and nicely decorated. The food was good, typical, but not exceptional. We did not do any of the "Freestyle dining" which essentially mean that you reserve a spot in one of the many restaurants on ship and then have to pay a fee (called a gratuity or cover) of $10 to $20 per person to have dinner. Otherwise the Freestyle cruising is the same as on any other cruise line. If you want to have a specific time and table, like a table for two, for dinner, just go to the dining room and put in your reservation. We asked for anad got a table for two by the window each day.

There is a spot on the back of the ship that pas a pool area just for kids, so the main pool didn't have babies and preteens in it. The ship has the usual amenities but I noticed that it has an oriental flavor, i.e., many oriental decorations. Then I found that NCL was bought out by an Asian company and that explains that. The band that played by the pool each day was also Asian. So the intertainment didn't grab me as anything other tahn adequate. There was karioke every night at about 10:00 PM

WE enjoyed the ship and I think you will. You didn't say what itinerary so cannot comment on tours.

Yes Ms; 3 times. The crew, service, food were excellent. When I went on the Spirit it was in Alaska. They like all lines go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your time. They answer all questions and go out of their way to help you. As for me the best ship in their fleet. Go and Enjoy and know you will be well taken care of.Excellent buffet and too many extras like spa's, movies etc. to list. Rooms are excellent. Staff the best I have seen and I have been on 19 cruises.

This cruise became awsome and that i concept that the ideal resturant became the Tariakki (dont be conscious of if this is the main suitable spelling) They cook dinner in front of you and its fairly cool. Unfortunanly i had 40 ft. waves as quickly as I had the cruise so i've got been given sick. =[ yet i guess you wont get that best waves.

I know someone that did go on one of those cruise lines, and they did not like it. They said that the staff did not speak English very well and the food was terrible. They preferred Carribbean cruise lines.
