I was getting an ultrasound done on my liver and the tech kept hitting my ribcage hard with that metal doohickey.

Sometimes they have to press hard to do a proper job.....They should definitely warn you of this.
Because they were checking your liver they have to press on the ribcage...and it hurts...This experience is not only specific to you...

The technician was either insensitive, clumsy or poorly trained. Perhaps all three.
Sometimes an ultrasound tech must press hard to get the correct picture. He or she should warn you ahead of time that the probe might cause discomfort briefly.

No, I don't think they purposely hurt people while checking them. BUT I do think that some are careless because they either think they are underpaid or have something else on their mind. Next time someone hurts you, tell them they aren't doing a good job and they are getting paid to take care of you, not hurt you. :)

Sometimes they catch a nurse who actually kills people!
The US tech was rougher than she had to be. I'd call the patient rep. of the hosp. system and complain about it so whe doesnt do that to others...she might already have complaints on her record.

I think most of them are very professional and gentle, but some are rough. If they try to hurt people, I am afraid they are in the wrong profession. You need to let him/her know that he/she need to be more gentle. If you do not speak up, how could they know?

i have heard of some cases where doctors have purposly killed people in a hospital so i wouldnt put it past them.
