I can carry it anywhere except in a government building? Am I correct?

You can find information on what is legal in your state on the link below. I believe most state prohibit firearms within 1000 yards of a school, in a bar or bank, but all the laws are on the site.

NO!!! You can't take it into bars and clubs where alcohol is served. government buildings as you mentioned, schools, banks and any businesses or public places that specifically prohibit firearms usually with a prominently displayed sign. In addition remember that a concealed carry permit means you keep it concealed!

I know in the state of Ohio and most other states, concealed handguns cannot go into hospitals, places that serve liquor, banks, pharmacy's, schools, and a few other designated places.
---I would do alot of research into your local and state laws about concealed handguns, before carrying.

It depends on your state laws as far as what is considered a "prohibited place".

A correction to the first poster's answer: Banks and pharmacies are NOT prohibited places in Ohio unless posted.

you can't carry into public places that have a sign: "No firearms" this includes places like banks.

www.packing.org will give you all the rules, off limits and forbidden places. each state is different, each with it's own set of rules, knowledge is golden
