They are great dogs. They are VERY smart & easy to train. They don't smell as strong as some other breeds of dogs, but you still need to give them a bath on a regular for good doggie hygiene. I would suggest that you get you parents blessing to bring a do into their house. No matter how great a schnauzer or any other animal may be if your parents dont want an animal in their house you need to respect that. Good luck

We have a 1 1/2 year old Schnauzer and he is the most playful dog I've ever had! We have a Toy Poodle and an American Pit Bull Terrier and they all get along very well!

I have 2 of them. They are GREAT family dogs. SCHNAUZERS do not shed so that is an added bonus of having one. I would reccomend getting a girl. Both of mine are females and they seem to potty train quicker than the male I had for 17 years.

I am a previous owner of a mini schnauzer. They are a wonderful, sweet & loving breed but quite independent. They don't shed, are hypoallergenic & don't get a "doggie" odor when wet. The Schnauz is also very trainable & easily housebroken. Good luck.

Then don't get one. Wait until you're on your own. It's easier to train the puppy and care for the puppy without others around who really don't want a dog.

They may end up really like it but if they don't adhere to your training then they will be undoing all the work you had done. If you don't to feed table scraps but they do any way, if you ask for their assistance in walking the puppy and they don't want anything to do w/ it but get upset if it goes in the house - and don't even get me started on the accidents that happen when it's still a puppy.

Just wait till you move out. It's much easier!!

When you grow up and have your own place, you can have your own schnauzer.
