I am 5'4 120 pounds. I'm not fat, just out of shape. My stomach however has a pouch and I hate it. I was in amazing shape 2 summers ago and thats my plan for this summer. I plan to run 2 miles a day 3 times a week and do crunches, pilates. I also am going to eat healthier...lots of water, fruit, vegetables, special k cereals bc their low in calories, salad w/ low fat dressing, soup, healthy foods. Am i being unrealistic to be in shape my summer?

you can also make suggestions on if i should change anything in this diet or exercise

That sounds like a sensible, very workable plan. Good luck

No it's not unrealistic at all! Drinking alot of water definetally helps curve the appettite (and good for the skin!) but also try sugar free drinks with water so you don't get bored with the plain taste.

My advice from personal experience is to try a moderate carb diet, with high protein, and high fiber. What I do to lose weight is what I read in a magazine a few years ago, eat carbs and protein at about 100 grams a day, and eat 25-30 grams of fiber. Protein burns 2 times more calories while digesting, and fiber actually can take out fat from the body depending on how much you eat. But don't go overboard on fiber, just 25-30 grams a day. It can cut out almost 200 calories from what you at that day by trapping the fat in your body and basicly shitting it out :)

And I say moderate carbs, because it's very healthy esp if you're concerned with ever getting diabetes or weight issues in the future. It doesn't mean you can't NOT eat carbs.. i love pasta personally and eat it everyday. Just eat protein with it and it slows down digestion of the higher carbs.

Also, if you want to supplement to help speed up weightloss, try a time released B Complex vitamin. An added benefit is shiny hair, better skin and stronger nails.

Hope this helps :)

No, you are not being unrealistic your plan is doable. just make sure you get enough of all the food groups. you will find if you eat some carbs or protein that you wont be hungry all the time. to really set a goal to keep you exercising try training for a 5K race (3.1) miles , it fun and with a training goal it helps you get out there and run. runners world magazine has a lot of tips and programs for training. or find a running buddy.

I suggest you start your plan immediately.I have been jogging for over 20 years. As I age my metabolic rate declines, thus I must consume less and burn more calories. This is a daily issue. If you start today, you may reach your goal. My wife has had wonderful results with Pilate's.

Soudns great to me, ive been trying to do the same exact thing so i wont be embarassed to go to the beach!!
It just takes a LOT of self control, to not just throw it away and not excersize adn eatanything you want.

BUT , if you really put your mind to it, no problem!!
realistic
( i have a pooch too, and i HATE it....)
