Hi - I've had the same problem recently too! I noticed at first that all the links in my OE emails didn't work at all. You can however get them to work by pressing down the Ctrl key whilst you click the link. I got so used to doing that, then a couple of months afterwards, I noticed that only SOME of the links weren't working. So it may also depend on who the email sender is (like mine wouldn't work on ebay emails).

I only got them all working again last week after I did restore because a Java update screwed me up! Strangely I only restored back to the day before NOT till before I had the link problem and since then they've all worked. Maybe some innocuous looking update you've done has messed with you too.

Use the ctrl button in the meantime until you find out the real reason (that's IF you find out the real reason)!!

When a link has a suitable virus to destroy the Windows programme on your computer, that would stop you opening links.

Just be sure you have protection against email viruses, you can read emails without opening them by right clicking choosing 'properties', clicking 'details', then 'message source'.

If you are sure of the person or company who sent the email, and have reason to trust the links in those emails, you are unlikely to get adversely affected. If you have any doubt about an email, right clicking, selecting 'properties', then 'details' will enable you to see if it is genuine.

Apart from viruses, there is the risk of phishing, giving passwords and other personal information onto a false website.

Most of the Outlook Express error messages are due to problems with the internet connection, not the software on your computer.
