One novel way of decreasing greenhouse gases is to dump millions of tons of iron filings into the ocean. As stupid as this sounds, phytoplankton outweigh all the trees on Earth by a long time and consume more carbon dioxide by a good margin. Phytoplankton bloom better when in solution with a higher iron concentration. Dump iron in the ocean and we get more green plants out.

Education and teachings.

No laws or regulations can make mankind how they not hurt the world. Cause mankind will continue to kill, harm for their ignorant causes for survival gains and some for monetary benefits.

Can you stop a person who have nothing to eat but have to kill a endangered animal in front of him for food when there is nothing to eat? Unless you have tons of money for these people for their hungry stomachs which is impossible..Even you fill their stomachs, they will yield for more. Money is no solution. People are still ignorant when their problems are solved.

Look at current politicians, lawyers, doctors, they will soon desire for status in the society, power, influence etc etc. It is a never ending well. How many of them threw their wealth and status to live like the people above? Hungry and no shelter and with insects infected their bodies? It is impossible to satisfy their hunger which is even tens of thousands times greater than the homeless.

Only through great compassion for life, teaching and patience, that could be achieve towards all mankind through time. You have already made yourself more than a step in this.

Become a vegetarian, don't buy products tested on animals, or made with animal ingredients. Don't buy or wear leather. Plant some trees. Write letters to companies that are destroying animals, or animal habitat, and to governments whose policies are detrimental to the envrionment, including your own.

It's a lot of effort, and may seem like it's too much effort for too little result, but--it's not. Keep trying, it's worth it.
