I installed a new stereo in my car, and it did not seem to work but the cassette player still works i went to try it again in the dark and noticed the iterior light did not work and also the clock has stopped working. im not sure if these problems are linked.
If anybody has any answers please dont be too complicated im a girl and dont know alot about cars lol.

Oh Dear..., if you don't know about fuses, I guess you shouldn't try an install a car stereo!
The other posts are right, a lot of cars now have two sets of fuses, see if you can get a Haynes manual for a '99 Saxo - or borrow one.... this should tell you where to find the fuse box(es).
You may have blown one two or possibly three fuses, they will probably be colour coded, the colours denote the fuse rating. Get along to Halfords and replace the blown ones with the same rated fuses. To work out if the fuse has gone you could try it in another slot with the same rating and see if the device linked to that fuse stops working.

Sounds like you have blown the fuse when you were fitting the stereo, it will be one fuse that links all the things you have mentioned, thats all it is nothing major.

check the fuses for the radio, light, clock or the cigarette lighter
